SOLO EXHIBITION
Château de Mirambeau
The theme of the exhibition draws its origins from 19th and 20th-century Malagasy postcards, aiming to preserve the connection between the past—helping us better understand history—and the symbolic value of Malagasy culture. With the exhibition "Dialogues", traditional attire blended with European influences, hairstyles, makeup, and the occult dimension of Malagasy tradition (such as the Sikidy divination art) will be showcased. This serves as a way to recognize and define Malagasy identity. Through this dialogue between eras and cultures, the exhibition encourages reflection on what truly defines a nation. The answers are, of course, multiple, mirroring the Malagasy heritage that has been shaped and continuously renewed through the fertile intertwining of the present and the past.
MOSAIC 2019 AWARD
NEW YORK
Mosaic Federation
Winner of the painting category at the Mosaic Federation gala against human trafficking held in New York City on September 10th, Tara Shakti’s Archives series captures the nobility and strength of Malagasy women enduring the suffering of human bondage. Her art chronicles their relentless battle to preserve their souls against dehumanizing forces, using brush and paint to narrate their struggles and celebrate the divine spark within them that remains unyielding. Tara aims to honor their hopes, dreams, and longing for freedom, portraying their collective strength as a beacon for breaking the invisible chains that bind them and touch all who witness their plight. Unlike typical depictions that focus on physical chains, her work highlights the unseen psychological bonds, inviting viewers to see the dignity in their faces, intact despite incredible trauma. These women wait, patient but resolute, for the world to recognize the inhumanity afflicting them—a call to action for humanity to break these chains and ascend to a better place alongside them.

CARROUSEL DU LOUVRE PARIS
Special PRIZE
Transmutation, the artwork for which Tara Shakti received a Special Prize at the Carrousel du Louvre, is deeply influenced by the Italian Renaissance, esotericism, and Symbolism, embodying a duality between the visible and the invisible, the tangible and the spiritual. Shakti’s central message—that the only way to overcome darkness is by bringing light into it—reflects the theme of inner illumination and personal transformation, where one reconnects with their divine essence.
This journey is depicted through a ternary alignment of body, soul, and spirit, offering a universal interpretation of transcendence. Rich with Renaissance-inspired techniques and esoteric symbols, Transmutation encourages contemplation of inner metamorphosis. It invites the viewer into a dialogue where art becomes a path toward self-knowledge and spiritual awakening, bridging classical art with contemporary aspirations for light and wisdom.
